My family and I have been going here for several years now. It's been our comfort spot for authentic Chinese food. Traditional chinese restaurant environment w/ lazy susans. This visit was VERY satisfying because each dish we ordered was BOMB! Each one perfectly seasoned, it is a bit oily but hey, what do you expect haha. Green beans had a perfect crunch, kung pao chicken was super tender, pork chops had a great crisp, chow fun was delish, deep fried whole fish & sole filet was so crispy & YUM. The clams were the only one that fell a bit short for me particularly this day because I didn't feel like they added enough Black bean sauce or some clam shells had no clam. In the past though, they have done better. All the portions here are very generous at dinner time!Nonetheless, my family really enjoyed our time here. Service was a tiny bit slow, but they were full house, so they would deliver each dish every 10 minutes. It wasn't bad, considering that fact and we came at peak dinner hours. 5pmish on a Sunday. Left restaurant feeling full & happy

Located in the shopping center behind Chase Bank. Parking is free but can get a bit packed from the local businesses. I really enjoyed coming for their lunch specials. You can get a whole meal for under $15 which includes tea, soup, rice, and your entrée. Portions are large. Most families come in order family style, and share different entrées. I plan to come back to try more from the menu. Decent Chinese food in the city. I really enjoyed the Kung pao shrimp.

The food quality is phenomenal here! I recommend getting the iconic "Deep Fried Whole Fish". It's a MUST for sure because every time I go here, this is what my family and I get and honestly, it is so worth it. Other things I tried are Beef Chow Fun, Sauteed Sole Fillet, Green Beans, Kung Pao Chicken, Clam w/ Black Bean Sauce, and Peking Pork Chops. And let me tell you, none of the dishes disappointed. Each plate was packed with its own special flavor & it was different from one another. Let me also mention that the portions were huge as well. Take a look for yourself cause they weren't about that stingy life. SERVICE: 3/5 stars. Throughout our order, it took a while for everything to come out. Not the best service; however, lowkey the food and portions made up for it. They would give us one thing we ordered every 10-15 minutes. AMBIANCE: A comfortable environment, traditional vibes, felt the vibes, waiting around 10 minutes to get seated. As I got seated, more people were getting seated and they were getting busy.

I've always wanted to try this restaurant cuz I keep seeing it driving by so many years. Finally tried it for my mom's birthday. The service was decent. The food was delicious. However for some reason their meat dishes seemed to not have as much quality. The spicy pork chops was mostly batter and not too much meat. The batter was delicious tho so the flavoring of the dishes were great. Other dishes that had lamb or beef all seem to have pieces that are really hard to chew. But the non-meat dishes such as fried fish and different veggies were delish. The restaurant is very busy and the parking lot is not very big, so it may become difficult to find parking.

The Chinese food here is so good. I've dined in once and ordered take out so many times. I feel I have to write a review to help them boost their business. They have good quality food. My go to orders are honey garlic pork chop, beef chow fun, saute fliet mignon house special lobster, fried whole sole filet and deep fried squab. The service is average but that's the norm in SGV. The food is comparable to Boston Lobster and Henry's Cuisine. Ambiance is meh, it can use a remodel. Plenty of parking in the lot

Great place for large groups. They were able to accommodate group of 15 people. They didn't mess up or miss any of the dishes ordered. All the dishes tasted good and nothing was bad. From the beef soup west lake's style, chicken &salted fish fried rice, beef chow fun, chow mein, salt and pepper pork chop, braised tofu, green beans, honey walnut shrimp and some dishes that I'm forgetting. No complaints for the food. Service was spotty after getting all the food. Parking lot but during peak times it gets full fast.

My family and I came for lunch. Our lunch of beef brisket with tendons and turnip (could've been tastier), clams with black bean sauce (adding red peppers would perk up the color), fish (tender) and vegetables, and chicken came with complimentary rice, tea and winter melon (dong gua) house soup. One can see the garden where the dong gua is grown. Bill with tax came to $60. Such a deal! Service was good, once we were able to flag a server down. Servers were constantly moving and busy. Parking on the lot. We'll be back for the squab and chow fun that are popular. Portions for the dishes were big and prices were inexpensive which means we'll be back!!

Living in the area, it took us years to find this place. It's tucked into the corner of a small plaza with limited parking. From the outside, it doesn't look like much. All you see is crowds of people waiting around, especially on the weekends. Inside is a bit bigger than initially thought. There are several tables for larger parties and plenty of 4 seaters. During meal times, they get busy. I've been here several times, and the food has always been constantly good. On top of the flavors, the portions are big and the prices are low, so that makes a winning recipe for a successful restaurant. Things we tried: Singapore fried vermicelli. Huge plate, fragrant, great curry taste with a little bit of heat. Eggplant, and chicken in garlic sauce (these are 2 different dishes in the same sauce) Bold flavors that go well with white rice. Sautéed string beans are fresh, crisp and served with a bit of garlic. There are other dishes we tried, and they were all pretty good. Mr. Chopsticks is a great place to get big portions of tasty Chinese food, and you'll sure to have leftovers for the next day, so you won't have to cook.

For some reason I was craving deep-fried sole tonight, so I remember this place that was near Sam's Club in El Monte. My boyfriend wanted the walnut shrimp, which was delicious (not too sweet), Yang Chow fried rice, and the sauté green beans. They added onions to sauté green beans which we thought was weird at first but turned out delicious. The deep fried squid needed a little bit more seasoning and may be a little bit longer with the frying but it was also good. The fried sole that I was craving at the spot. The portions were huge and we were able to place the order before going to Sam's Club and picked it up within 20 minutes of the phone call. We will definitely be back to try more items on their menu.

This was a pretty solid classic Chinese restaurant in El Monte. I came on a Tuesday for dinnertime and it was pretty crowded but no wait. Service was mediocre but that's nothing new at these type of restaurants. Food was good and I got these. Hot and Sour soup - I really enjoyed this one especially for an appetizer. They certainly don't lack content with a lot of veggies and meat in here. Also was pretty flavorful and delicious. (4.5/5) Orange Peel Chicken - Man they don't skimp on portions because this one was HUGE. It's made fresh and super crispy. Sweet and crispy. It's delicious but heavy. (4/5) Beef Chow Fun - This was just okay. At least this time it was a bit on the soft side so I don't know if the noodles weren't as fresh or overcooked. Beef and overall flavor was good. (3/5) String Beans - They killed it on this. It had the perfect bite on every string and was seasoned well. (5/5) Honey Walnut Shrimp - Another great dish with fresh seafood. Sauce was good, pecans were solid and shrimp was fried well. Perfection! (5/5) Overall this is a solid spot for Chinese food. Prices were reasonable and portions were huge. Tea was free but you have to buy white rice by the cup. Our total came out to be $88.8, lucky number!, for 5 people with tons of leftover. I'd be back, it's good!
